The former Conservative politician Michael Portillo visited the Goods Shed recently.
During the visit he looked around the derelict building and was told of the plans to regenerate it into a multi use facility with an emphasis on its history and heritage.
Mr Portillo also met the Llanelli Male Voice Choir and clearly enjoyed listening to them sing.
Commenting on the project Mr Portillo said that it was an important piece of heritage and that he wished the project luck. He said that finding the funding was crucial to realising the projects aims.
When asked if he would be revisiting the Goods Shed he said that he would very much hope so if he had an invitation to do so.
