As you will know, the plan is to renovate and turn the Goods Shed in Marsh Street into a community hub, but such a big building comes with big costs! Therefore, we have to raise the money through applying for a range of grants. We are now a step closer, as Carmarthenshire County Council is giving strong support to the project to obtain Welsh Government funding, alongside other grants.
When will it be ready for use?
If you are looking for a place to use tomorrow, then sorry you will have to wait as it is going to take 18 months to two years to get the first section renovated….and that is assuming the grants come through. We will be starting on the former office block, which will provide a number of rooms for community use.
What about the land around the Goods Shed?
Some of the land will provide off-street parking for people using the Goods Shed, but there will still be land for additional activities.
