A large number of supporters of the Llanelli Railway Goods Shed Trust (LRGST) made their way to the Ali Raj restaurant recently for another fundraising ‘curry night’.

The evening was MC’d by the Reverend Eldon Phillips but this time alas he didn’t have his Alexander Kingdom Brunel outfit – he simply could not find it.

Numerous prizes were donated for the auction and raffle, which raised a significant amount towards the work of the LRGST.

Nia Griffith MP gave a wonderful speech and thanked everyone for their support. You can listen to what Nia Griffith MP said here.

The mayor and mayoress of Llanelli, Mr and Mrs Darkin were in attendance as was the deputy mayor Suzy Curry.

The food and service was as usual splendid and guests were told of one of the staff members’ selection to represent Wales in an international martial arts competition.
